Adam Lambert was recently in his hometown of San Diego as a part of his Glam Nation tour, and he had quite a bit to say about the show that made him famous. First, Adam touched on how the transition has been from performing on a reality show to being a recording artist:
“The whole process has been really interesting. Obviously ‘American Idol’ was a great experience, I had a great time, it put me on the map — but it doesn’t always ensure your success. There’s a little bit of apprehension whenever you go through something like that … I’m really thrilled that things are working out.”
Adam ultimately went on to defend “Idol” for allowing him to have an opportunity — he even went as far as to “guarantee” he would not have a record deal if it wasn’t for the show.
The interview also touched on some potential candidates to replace Simon Cowell, and threw some support behind Justin Timberlake. He also calls Jennifer Lopez (who has been the target of the most talk) a “shoo-in”, which is looking more and more like a good call.
