FOR REAL GUYS!! The city mayor, Mayor Jerry Sanders, really did declare that Friday is “Adam Lambert Day” in San Diego! How awesome is that?? Of course, the singer was flabbergasted with the compliment. As well know, the top 3 finalists of American Idol get to return to their hometown and receive some good ole lovin’ from fans. Adam Lambert’s homecoming included a visit to his old high school where cheerleaders and a marching band met him. The guyliner-loving singer then offered the crowd at Mt. Carmel High School two songs and a few words of appreciation. He also advised the students to “believe in yourself” no matter what others may say.

Awhile later, a woman wearing a sports bra but no blouse rushed the stage to get closer to Adam Lambert but she was quickly hustled off before doing anything scandalous. LOL! Mayor Jerry Sanders then declared “Adam Lambert Day” while jokingly saying that he vows to keep his shirt on. The high school stadium was draped with banners reading, “Mt. Carmel (Hearts) Adam!” and “You’re Our American Idol.” A poster of one fan even read “Adam, You’re a Rock God!” And a rock god expects nothing but a heroes welcome on homecoming — and Adam Lambert got that and more!

After arriving in San Diego on private jet, American Idol’s favorite son was then whisked away into a huge white limousine to the Fox 69 studios in the city where a huge screaming crowd greeted him. There Adam Lambert was interviewed with his mother about his early love for theater. After the stop at the television studios, he went to a private concert at a local Art Center and then to his High School. Adam Lambert sang two songs to a completely sold out seating and to people who were sitting on the surrounding hills and hiking trails. The crowd loved him as expected

There was a military flyover for Adam Lambert while at his high school and a young lady got so overly enthusiastic she removed her shirt and tried to get on the stage. Security quickly had the girl under control while he laughed at the event. With about 15,000 estimated attendees the mayor of San Diego declared it “Adam Lambert Day” and presented the singer with a plaque. WOW! Certainly an awesome day!!

And a short interview at the airport revealed that this was the first time he had ever flew into his hometown in a private jet, w00t! That’s what Adam Lambert gets for being American Idol’s top 3 finalists Anyway, in the short interview, the singer was asked if a large black bag he was travelling with his makeup bag, he laughed and said, “Um, no. All I really need is eyeliner. I have worn eyeliner for years. I asked for it. When we were looking for looks for the show I asked, can I do eyeliner and maybe nail polish?” I just bet after Adam Lambert will win this season, tons of guys will wear eyeliner! LOL!

American Idol’s most controversial singer was also about his favorite moment so far on the show. Adam Lambert shared, “This last week, the Led Zeppelintune (“Gonna Give You My Love”), probably ranks as my favorite of all the material I have gotten to sing on the show. It was something I didn’t think was going to happen, so when they approved the song, when I got up there I just had so much fun.”
