American Idol season 8 finalists Matt Giraud, Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds were asked about who will win this year recently. Of course, nobody named a clear winner so they just gave their insights about the remaining finalists. Here’s their take on Adam Lambert:

Anoop Desai: “Adam can sing higher than…. ”
Lil Rounds: “Adam Lamborghini. I call him that because he’s like my fast-paced runner. He goes to these notes, and me and Anoop are like, ‘Who does that?!’ C’mon. He’s sick.”
Anoop Desai: “Adam Lambert has tremendous stage presence and knows how to work the crowd. He’s a sweet person.”
Lil Rounds: “He’s a really sweet guy. He was my talking buddy. When I was having a problem, or even if it came down to song choice, I’d say, ‘Adam, we need to talk.’ And he’d say, ‘Come on, diva.’ It just works out.”
Matt Giraud: “Adam Lambert is one of the greatest performers I think they’ve seen. He knows how to work that camera, he’s a great singer, he loves music — he’s really passionate about music.”

Entertainment Weekly senior writer Michael Slezak, who blogs about American Idol for EW.com, says: “I think Adam Lambert has definitely kept this season from flat-lining. It has been a little bit serious this season. Tons of ballads, tons of sad songs. Then Adam will come out and sort of explode onto the stage in this fireball of energy. And the fact that he does it without ever missing a note is what makes it work.” With his love of death-defying high notes, vampy theatrics and material, Adam Lambert is the whole package. And his arrival did indeed saved American Idol from a boring season.

Sean Ross, vice president of music and programming at Edison Research, a New Jersey-based media company that consults with radio stations weighed in: “He has a reputation for experimentation that most Idols don’t have. Adam Lambert comes to the table with people wanting to see what he does next and wanting it to be something a little bit different.” Remember his glitter-rock romp through the Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”? Or his mournful take on “If I Can’t Have You” from the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack? Adam is just effin awesome!!

Woohoo!! Another rock-solid performance from our fave American Idol finalist!! And I hope to the heavens that you guys voted your thumbs off for Adam Lambert! :p Critics said that “his performance of “Whole Lotta Lovin’” by Led Zeppelin was a flawless simulation of the thick, high vocals of a heavy-metal star.” The judges, as expected, unanimously raved. Randy Jackson said, “This is the Adam Lambert I love, dude!” He also added that the performance should erase any criticism that Adam is nothing but a Broadway singer.

Simon Cowell meanwhile predicted that no other performance would top it. And, as usual, he was correct. Aside from his superb solo performance, Adam Lambert also shined in his duet with Allison Iraheta. They sang Foghat’s “Slow Ride,” her roar nicely matching his wail. Paula Abdul said, “A perfect marriage. A beautiful thing.” So good was their duet that Simon even thought Adam Lambert could help carry Allison into the final three.
