Today is “National Coming Out Day” and Adam Lambert has shown celebrity support by tweeting about gay rights this morning. He tweeted a message originally posted by the organization Friend Factor, saying “Wait…What?! My gay friends & I can be fired in 29 states #Just4BeingGay? Learn more: http://www.Friendfactor.org/WW #ncod plz RT.” By asking his more than 1.2 million followers to re-tweet it, Adam obviously has a huge reach with this message. In addition, he followed that tweet with“This is one of the many reasons kids are being bullied: parents r setting examples of discrimination and inequality. Last week was a whirlwind over at RCA Records as the company officiallyconfirmed it was absorbing storied labels Arista, Jive and J. Among the casualties of consolidation: American Idol winner Lee DeWyze, whose option for future recordings was not picked up.
