In a summer that has seen concerts and entire tours fall by the wayside, Adam Lambert has put together something impressive: A sold-out tour of large clubs and small theaters playing to a thoroughly devoted audience that comes not for the big single but to bask in the presence of the artist. You could feel the love long before this glam-rocking 2009 “American Idol” runner-up even set foot in the spotlight Friday night at PlayhouseSquare’s Allen Theatre in Cleveland. A few minutes later, when smoke machines started belching theatrical fog, fans cheered all the more loudly. And when the lights finally went down just before 10 p.m., it was time to kiss your eardrums goodbye.
The Puyallup Fair has just announced that effective immediately Orianthi will no longer be opening for Adam Lambert at the Fair on Sept. 21. “American Idol” star Allison Iraheta will be taking her place.
